Our port forwarding guide to fix your hosting only works if Warcraft II is set up to use port 6112, but sometimes it can become set to a different port. Follow these steps to make sure it’s actually using 6112.

For Windows 7

1. Go to the Start menu and type “regedit” into the search box:
    
   
2. Select the first result “regedit”
    
3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Battle.net and click on “Configuration”
    
   
4. In the right-hand pane look for an entry that says “Game Data Port”.
    
   
   • If you see it and it says “6112” then everything is fine — you’re done.
   • If you see it but the number is not 6112 then skip to Step 7.
   • If you do not see it then continue to the next step.
5. Right click in the blank white space below the last entry and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
    
   
6. The new entry will appear at the bottom of the list with the text “New Value #1” – replace it with “Game Data Port” exactly as shown (but without quotes)
    
   
7. Double click on “Game Data Port”. In the window that pops up select the radio button beside “Decimal” then type “6112” (without quotes) into the box on the left and click OK. (Important: must do it in that order! Click radio button, THEN type number.)
    
   
8. Warcraft II is now set to use port 6112 — you can try hosting again and see if the problem is fixed
